Help To Heal Pulled Muscles

without comments

Some common place where I have had pulled muscles is in my chest. I am not sure why this happens to me so often, but it happens at least three times a year. When I get pulled muscles in my chest, I often think I have cracked a rib or have developed some sort of respiratory problem because it is so hard to breath. My breathing is fine, but the pain from the strained muscle is excruciating each time I take a breath.

There are times when pulled muscles come from obviously sources. You may know exactly what you did and when you did it. Many that play sports have pulled muscles from time to time, and they expect that as part of the game. Some get them from running, though there are times when the strained muscles are not obvious until much later. There are many times when you may wake up at night with a cramp, and that might be all it is. However, other times that cramp means you have pulled something that may bother you for weeks.

It was long believed that warming up and cooling off after activity would prevent strained muscles, but some question that today. If you do end up with one, put ice on it for 24 hours to keep swelling down. You may even want to take a medication for the pain and to help with the swelling. It can take a while to heal, and if you are in extreme pain, you may want to see your doctor for a prescription pain killer. Rest the pulled muscles as much as you can to speed up the healing process.

As always, consult a physician before taking any medical advice.
