Remedy Heartburn the Right Way
There are two main opinions on stopping heartburn. The first trend is to go on the offensive, or, in other words, stop heartburn before it starts! Others don’t really worry about prevention, preferring to find a remedy after the fact.
If we start with how to stop heartburn before it begins, then make certain lifestyle changes where good habits replace bad and using common sense to avoid overeating.
Medical professionals insist that prevention is the only safe heartburn remedy available. Prevention eliminates not only the pain of heartburn, but the danger of other gastric problems that the heartburn may cause.
Don’t over eat! Otherwise, heartburn is inevitable.
Eating a banana before your main meal can also help. It will coat your stomach lining and keep acid at bay.
If you find that you fall of the wagon every now and then, there are several home remedies for heartburn that you will find helpful. A quick internet search will likely give you more remedies than anyone needs, but, let’s look at two of the most effective.
One remedy is to dissolve a rounded teaspoon of baking soda in 4 ounces of water. Once you drink the water, relief is only a couple of burps away.
Believe it or not, vinegar is another good heartburn remedy. Drinking a shot and following it with a drink of water will immediately neutralize excess acid. If the thought of drinking vinegar makes you gag a 50/50 mix of apple cider and vinegar will work almost as well.
